FNPS Chapters: the Heart of our Society
It is through our chapters that we provide most of our opportunities to participate in preserving Florida's native flora, opportunities to learn about our natural heritage and teach others, and the values inherent in interacting with others who have similar interests.
Members of our 37 FNPS chapters include beginners and experts alike, but are all united in their interest in learning about and preserving Florida's native plants. Each chapter is unique and offers a local flavor, but most of them:
- Hold monthly meetings with informative presentations and programs. Guests are always welcome.
- Run educational field trips to interesting areas.
- Participate in local events as part of their outreach.
- Work on projects to preserve native plants or habitats.

Citrus, Southern Levy , Western Sumter Counties

Lee County (Fort Myers)
Meeting Schedule: 2nd Thursday of each month between September and April 6:30 pm social gathering, 7:00 pm

Southern Brevard County.
Meeting Schedule: Second Monday of the month. All Chapter meetings are held from 6:00 - 8:00pm. No meetings are held in June, July, or August.

Council of Chapters
The council of chapter representatives meets periodically at various locations. Check the Events calendar for info.
Meeting Schedule: First Monday of each month at 6:30 pm

The Hernando Chapter's meetings are held the first Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. We are now meeting at historic Chinsegut Hill north of Brooksville, FL. Please see the map.
At each meeting we discuss native plants and native plant ecosystems. Subjects range from hummingbird gardening to black bear habitats. Each meeting has delicious snacks, and friendly company, a native plant raffle, and an information table. Our meetings are open to the public so please join, and mark your calendar for the months to come!

Duval, Nassau and Clay Counties
Meeting Schedule: 6:30 PM on the third Thursday of each month except for May, June, July and December

The entrance to the Trout Lake Nature Center is on the South side of CR44, 0.3 miles east of SR19. To reach us, take SR 19 north out of Eustis to the intersection with CR 44 East and turn right at Winn-Dixie and CVS Pharmacy, then go 1/4 mile to the nature center entrance on the right.
St. Lucie County

The Community Center is located between SR 52 and SR 54 on the west side of the highway ( 7miles south of SR 52 and 3.2 miles north of SR 54). We meet in the rear meeting room with a direct entrance on the south side of the center. We look forward to making new friends and hope many of you who have come to our recent fall and spring plant sales will join us!
Alachua, Bradford and northern Levy Counties

From I-75, go east on I-4 approx 0.5 mi to Exit 10 ( CR. 579, Mango, Thonotosassa). Go south on CR 579 to the SE corner of Old Hillsborough Road. Turn east (left) on Old Hillsborough Road and then right into the parking lot. We meet in the large room immediately to the south of the parking lot (walk down the sidewalk into the court, left into the room.
