The Ledger Covers Emergency Sandhill Rescue

October 10, 2017

The Florida Native Plant Society’s Emergency Sandhill Rescue received coverage in an article in The Ledger. Tom Palmer, an environmental writer for The Ledger, has assisted with several rescue days and wrote the article our work.

To date, we have rescued more than 2,000 plants and have many more rescue dates scheduled.

Thank you to all of our partners at Lake County Parks and Trails, Florida State Parks, Lake County Water Authority, St. Johns River Water Management District, Oakland Nature Preserve, and on-the-ground volunteers from six FNPS chapters.
