Grace Howell's Botany Safari

September 26, 2018

Grace Howell, FNPS Land Management Partners Committee Chair recently discovered a previously unknow population of Schwalbea americana (American Chaffseed).  This is only 1 of 3 known populations in Florida.  She made the discovery while enjoying one of her Botany Safaris.

Grace Howell is shown above with Balduina atropurpurea (Purple Balduina), another one of Florida’s rare plant species.
