Citizen Science
Volunteers Make a Difference!
Our citizen scientists conduct plant relocations, create demonstration gardens, teach botanical science, and help in the management of Florida's public lands.
FNPS operates at the forefront of "citizen science". Many needed plant surveys, studies of plant distributions, tracking of rare plant population levels, and investigations of plant-pollinator relationships go undone due to lack of funding. FNPS citizen scientists volunteer their time to fill this need.
FNPS has members who bring botanical knowledge and many years of experience to these projects, recruiting others, and guiding them through conducting needed studies that would otherwise not get done.
FNPS lets you make a difference. As you do, you get great opportunities to explore natural Florida, learn, and share your knowledge.
We need both young and old. We need established scientists and those interested in learning.
