Q: How do I join the Florida Native Plant Society?

You can join FNPS online by visiting our Join page. You can choose a membership level and pay securely online.

Q: What are the membership types and dues?

FNPS offers the following membership types:


Annual Memberships

Individual - $35

Household - $50

Business/Organization - $150

Full-Time Student - $15

Lifetime Membership - $1000


Sustaining Memberships

Individual - $10/month

Household - $15/month

Business/Organization/Nonprofit - $20/month


Q: How do I renew my membership?

To renew your membership, login to your membership portal and renew from within there. Alternatively, you can renew through a renewal form.

Q: Can I gift a membership to someone else?

Yes! Please email info@fnps.org to set up a gift membership for another individual. 


Q: How do I update my contact information or mailing address?

To update your information, login to your membership portal and make edits from within there.


Q: How can I receive the Palmetto quarterly publication?

Members have complimentary access to digital issues of the Palmetto at on our digital library. Members can add on printed issues to their membership for $20 per year.

Q: Who do I contact for general questions about the Society?

Please email info@fnps.org for general inquiries.


Q: Can I get a receipt for my donation or membership dues?

Yes, receipts are automatically emailed to you. If you need another copy, please email info@fnps.org.


Q: Where can I find my membership ID number?

Your membership ID is included in your contribution receipt and is listed on the member postcard mailed to you soon after joining/renewing.

Q: Are donations to FNPS tax-deductible?

Yes, FNPS is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. A receipt will be provided for your records.


Q: Can I make a recurring donation?

Absolutely. You can set up a monthly or annual recurring donation through the online donation form.


Q: Can I donate in memory or in honor of someone?

Yes, FNPS accepts tribute gifts. During the donation process, you can indicate the honoree’s name and, if desired, request a notification be sent.


Q: How can I leave a legacy or planned gift to FNPS?

Planned giving options include bequests, charitable trusts, or naming FNPS as a beneficiary. Contact executivedirector@fnps.org to discuss planned giving opportunities.

Visit our

FNPS offers many ways to get involved, from helping with events to supporting conservation or education initiatives. Reach out to your local chapter to learn more.


Q: Is there a calendar of events available online?
Yes, visit our event calendar to view the full calendar of upcoming meetings, events, field trips, and more.

The next conference will take place in 2027. Details will be posted on our conference page and announced via email and social media.

Native Plants in Florida


Q: Where can I purchase native plants?

Your best resource is the Florida Association of Native Nurseries' Plant Real Florida website. You can use their website to find a retail nursery in your area. 


You can also find plants through your local chapter which may have natives available at meetings, chapter plant sales, or arranged visits to wholesale nurseries.


Q: Can you help me identify this native plant?

Your local chapter can assist you with identifying native plants in your area. You may also post in our FNPS Members Only Facebook Group, which has many native plant experts ready to help. 


Q: What native plants should I plant in my yard?

We have an excellent native plant database where you can search for the plants best suited for your location and growing conditions.
