At the heart of the Florida Native Plant Society is a dedicated team of professionals who are passionate about protecting Florida’s rich and irreplaceable native plant heritage. Our staff comes from diverse backgrounds — science, conservation, education, communications, and nonprofit leadership — but we share one common goal: to help ensure Florida’s native plants and natural ecosystems thrive for generations to come.

From coordinating community programs and supporting local chapters, to advancing conservation initiatives and sharing science-based resources, the FNPS staff is here to serve our members, partners, and the plants that make Florida unique. Interns are an essential part of the Florida Native Plant Society’s mission to protect and celebrate Florida’s native plants. These emerging professionals bring fresh ideas, energy, and talent to every corner of our work — from scientific research and land stewardship to education, outreach, and digital storytelling.

The Council of Chapters is the heart of the Florida Native Plant Society’s grassroots network. Made up of representatives from each of our local chapters across the state, the Council creates a strong bridge between communities and conservation action.
