Description

Citrus Chapter brings together people who share a passion for Florida’s native plants. We work to protect plants in their natural environments and promote their use in modern landscapes. Join us to learn about Florida’s wild plant communities and discover how native landscaping can create habitats that attract and sustain pollinators, butterflies, birds, and other wildlife.

Since our founding in 2001, we’ve hosted plant rescues, nature walks, and field trips; created and sponsored public native gardens; given community presentations; held native plant sales; donated and planted trees throughout the county; toured native nurseries—and more! We also offer conferences and virtual programs exploring many aspects of botany and plant ecology.

Our meetings are open to the public and begin at 6:15 p.m. with Barbara’s Bits, a Master Gardener presentation. After a short break for refreshments and mingling, we share brief business updates at 7:00 p.m., followed by our guest speaker. Meetings feature a plant table, “What’s Blooming,” merchandise, free educational materials, and sign-up sheets for upcoming events.

Members also enjoy exclusive summer activities and festive swap meetings in May and December.
